Assigned project to design both the inside and outside of an art book focused on the author's collection of rare decorative papers.
With the papers themselves being highly patterned and beautiful in their own right, a pared-back approach was taken for layouts and typography to show these to their best. Chapter openers in vivid magenta monochrome and translucent paper create an easy way to navigate the book and encourage the reader to look closer at these patterned spreads.
Typography is kept unobtrusive, but functional, to provide information when needed so as to allow the images to command the space.
